MicroBotics MBX 1200 (Rev 1.0, 1993), a trapdoor RAM and FPU expansion for the Amiga 1200.
Memory
- One 72-pin SIMM socket (up to 8MB), filled with a 4MB SIMM (8 x Samsung KM44C1000BJ-7, 70 ns)
- The 4MB of fast RAM lets the A1200 run larger programs and WHDLoad games without sharing the chip RAM bus
FPU
- Motorola MC68882RC25A at 25 MHz, with its own 25.000 MHz oscillator
- An FPU speeds up programs written to use one, such as 3D rendering and other math-heavy software; it doesn’t change games or everyday use
